Can swine flu be spread by mosquitos?
- William in Texas
There is no evidence that swine flu can be transmitted by mosquitoes, from pigs to birds to humans or any other animal. Mosquitos do vector malaria, yellow fever, dengue and encephalitis, but mosquitos do not vector bubonic plaque or typhus, – fleas do that. Mosquitos do not vector lyme disease or rocky mountain fever,- ticks do that.
